1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Whatiz ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the App.
If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use the App. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
2 Description of Service
Whatiz is an iOS application that delivers daily AI-generated educational content in response to trending "What is..." questions. The App includes:
- Daily topic cards powered by OpenAI GPT-4o-mini
- A Knowledge Bank with coins and rank progression
- Home screen widgets via WidgetKit
- Optional Pro subscription via Apple In-App Purchase
3 Subscriptions and Payments
Whatiz offers a Pro subscription with a 7-day free trial, available as a monthly or annual plan. All billing is handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You will not be charged during the free trial period
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — you retain access until then
- To cancel, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device
- Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com
We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are processed securely by Apple.
4 Use of the App
You agree to use Whatiz only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the App
- Attempt to extract or scrape AI-generated content at scale
- Use the App to distribute spam, misinformation or harmful content
- Circumvent any technical measures used to protect the App
- Use the App in any way that violates Apple's App Store Guidelines
5 Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, branding and trademarks within Whatiz are the property of the App developer. AI-generated topic content is produced dynamically and is not pre-authored or claimed as original literary work.
You may not reproduce, copy, republish or redistribute any part of the App or its content without prior written permission.
6 AI-Generated Content
Topic content in Whatiz is generated by OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, outdated information or oversimplifications.

- It should not be relied upon as professional, medical, legal or financial advice
- We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any generated content
Always verify important information from authoritative sources before acting on it.
7 Privacy
Whatiz does not require you to create an account. Your reading history, Knowledge Coins and preferences are stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud — we do not have access to this data.
We collect minimal anonymous usage data to improve the App. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
8 Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Whatiz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or profits.
9 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via an in-app notice.
10 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
